March 17 - 19, 2017
Anna and Coral headed to Wildcat Beach for a St. Patrick's Day weekend of relaxation. We decided this will be an annual trip for us for St. Patrick's Day as the mustard seed was tall and beautiful. After our 6.4 mile hike to camp, we threw downs our packs and headed right to the beach for some afternoon sunshine. After a short nap in the sand, we gathered beach wood for our evening fire. We created our own firepit and "marked" it with a cloth. The mustard seed was full and beautiful surrounding our campsite. After sunset we enjoyed an evening campfire. Saturday we did the 2 mile hike along the beach to Alamere Falls. The falls were very full and beautiful. There was an abundance of wood on the beach at Wildcat so we collected more for an afternoon beach fire. We enjoyed wine and appetizers, conversation and relaxation. We were so comfortable, we just kept adding more wood to our fire, which lasted about 6 1/2 hours! It was 8:30 before we headed back to camp for dinner. Sunday morning we enjoyed our coffee at our "Cliff Cafe" while watching 8 whales and their babies play in the sand bars close to shore. Simple amazing!! We packed up and headed back on the trail. Cheeseburgers and fries for lunch at the Olema cafe. So good!! Total miles: 14.8
