Snowshoeing at Tahoe Donner
February 4, 2017
Carey, Anna, Mark and Coral headed to Tahoe Donner for a day of snowshoeing. We headed out on the Sundance trail. We only saw a few people on the back trails and had a few mild climbs before stopping at the Sundace warming hut for lunch. Fresh water and warmth welcomed us. After lunch we hiked around the loop and headed back to the lodge for cold beverages. As we relaxed in the lodge, the snow was falling around us. Spectacular beauty. It was a awesome hike and we missed the storm by a half hour. We made our way to the Truckee River Winery for some fine wines and then off to the Thrasher's Ranch in Sierraville.
Hiking distance: 3.64 miles.
