CULBERTSON LAKE, June 21 - 23, 2013
Our trip began with a hilly 2 mile hike on a dirt rocky road. It wasn't difficult and we past Lindsey lower and upper lakes along the way. Once we arrived at Culbertson Lake we all settled in at a remote beautiful site. There are 3 sites at Culbertson spread out along the shoreline. We had the middle site and had the entire lake to ourselves for the weekend! Our site was huge with plenty of room for many tents and a large firepit with logs to perch on. Mark landed some fish on Culbertson Lake and cooked them up on the fire. As nightfall drew, we were amazed at the brightness of the full moon that shone over our campsite. The beauty was spectacular. On Saturday we hiked another 1 1/2 miles passing Lower Rock Lake and ended up at the top of the mountain at Rock Lake. Heaven on earth. It was a beautiful hike with many wild flowers and forest trails. Rock Lake has one awesome campsite on the lake with a great firepit and grill. Stacie and Coral decided to go swimming and the water was wonderful and refreshing. Ernie, Kathy and their son hiked in for the day and joined us for lunch at Rock Lake. The weather was sunny and warm all weekend. Sunday was an early departure and easy downhill hike to the car. Mileage: Approximately 2 miles to Culbertson Lake and another 1 1/2 miles to top (Rock Lake)
. Total miles traveled: 7
