Mt. Tamalpais
Steep Ravine - Room with a View
#No Backpack Needed
March 18 - 20, 2018
I decided to dump my backpack and
head out to Steep Ravine for some
hiking with cabin accommodations.
What a charming, beautiful and quaint
cabin! Sam, Ana and Mary Ellen met
me on Hwy 1 and we drove together
into Steep Ravine. After unloading my
car, we headed out the gate to the
Steep Ravine Trail head to begin our
hike. The Steep Ravine Trail runs along
the Webb Creek, where we crossed many old wooden bridges, climbed a latter and
saw a few waterfalls. Beautiful ferns, moss and redwoods. We then turned onto the
Lower Old Mine Trail, which took us to the Dipsea Trail. At the lookout we were able
to see the City and the Salesforce tower! Total hike 5.5 miles. Other small hikes were
enjoyed around the cabins and along the cliffs. The sunsets were awesome and the
wood burning stove kept me warm at night! A day trip into lovely Stinson Beach was
enjoyed with charming cafes, art galleries and a book store.
