TAHOE NATIONAL FOREST
~ Five Lakes Trail ~
October 28, 2017
Annette, Heather, Dawn and Coral began the day with a beautiful hike on the Five Lakes Trail near Alpine Meadows. The 1,000-foot climb into the Granite Chief Wilderness is comprised of forested switchbacks with views of the Alpine Meadows Ski Area. Along the ridge we were greeted with a massive granite wall and priceless panorama views. We topped the ridge at about 7,400 feet. We made our way to two of the unnamed forest-rimmed lakes before heading back to the trail head. Total miles traveled: 6. Next we headed to Squaw Valley Village and enjoyed a hour of yoga at Wanderlust Yoga Studio.
