Wildcat with the Kiddos
May 31 - June 2, 2019
Mark, Coral, Sam, Ana, Lynda and Erik
headed to Wildcat Beach with our packs on!
It was Sam and Ana's first trip to Wildcat.
Mark made great beach fires both Friday
and Saturday nights. We attempted to walk
along the beach to Alamere falls, but even
with low tide, getting there was impossible.
The sea was crashing against the cliffs near
the falls. The cliffs along the shoreline have
experience coastal erosion since last year,
leaving large sections collapsed. Erik beat
all in a game of Phase 10 and someone owes him a favor. Two darling cottontail
bunnies joined us at our site along with some mice who munched on a few pages of
Sam's book in attempts at building a nest. Speaking of nests, a beautiful mud made
nest was built above the bathroom door and the bird never left it - keeping those
eggs warm. A great weekend with our kids enjoying the outdoors.
Total miles: about 16.
